“A City of Peace” – Hanoi is worthy a center of politics, economy, culture and tourism of Vietnam – one of the most interesting and safe destinations of foreign tourists to Vietnam. Lying in the Red river delta where the land is fertile, Thang Long-Hanoi has survived to the age of a thousand years as of 2010. As a political and religious centre of Vietnam since the beginning of the country’s history, Thang Long-Hanoi pools together all the aspects of culture and civilisation that are quintessentially Vietnamese.
Acting as Vietnam’s capital city, Thang Long-Hanoi is where different cultures come together, as evident in the languages, costumes, cuisines, and pastimes of the people.Thriving for a thousand years, Thang Long-Hanoi has become an attractive tourist destination, boasting famous cultural and historical sites as the Thang Long Old Citadel, Van Mieu -Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature- Vietnam’s first university), Thap Rua (Tortoise Tower), Ngoc Son Pagoda, and Chua Mot Cot (One-pillar Pagoda).
An other destination of our trip is the Perfume Pagoda, known locally as Chua Huong or ‘inner temple’. It is at the centre of a very revered and sacred site featuring a maze of mainly Buddhist temples built into the limestone cliffs of Huong Tich. At the heart of this complex lies the Perfume Temple or Perfume Pagoda in the Huong Tich Cave. Perfume Pagoda is one of the most important religious sites of Buddhism in Vietnam. The pagoda itself only can be reached by boat or on foot, as there are no roads in the area.
Halong Bay is a beautiful natural wonder in northern Vietnam near the Chinese border. The Bay is dotted with 1,600 limestone islands and islets and covers an area of over 1,500 sqkm. This extraordinary area was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. For many tourists, this place is like something right out of a movie. The fact is that Halong Bay features a wide range of biodiversity, while the surrealistic scenery has indeed featured in endless movies.
